Michael Sherwood
FREE IN THE SPIRIT ROOM:
Michael Sherwood started playing music in 2010 in his hometown of Big Lake, Minnesota as a kid. Most of his inspiration comes from 70s and 80s rock and roll and has incorporated other sounds throughout the years. His range as an artist goes from rap to pop, with majority of his favorite work being rock and alternative rock.

Mabel's Community Celebration 2024
Come and join The Mabel Tainter for our 4th Annual Mabel Community Celebration! The Cathy Reitz Trio features Cathy on vocals/Melodica and 2 of her favorite musicians, Jeff Reitz on woodwinds and Emily Watkins on guitar/vocals or Nick Poss on piano. They are both favorites of ours. We have been performing together for over 20 years. Our song list covers over 100 years of great music, the Roaring 20’s to the 2020’s.
Jeff Dayton - Salute to Glen Campbell
Jeff's 15 years as bandleader and guitarist for the legendary Glen Campbell were filled with touring, adventures and stories as they traveled and recorded together. From the Today Show (NBC) to their award-winning South Dakota Symphony PBS special, at the White House and on international shows, their years together are remembered as Jeff pays tribute to his mentor and friend.
Haley Reinhart
A timeless voice outlasts eras. It feels just as at home in the sixties as it does in the TikTok age. It also resounds louder as time goes on. Haley Reinhart brandishes such a voice.
Wilson Place Mansion & Museum Tours
The Mabel Tainter Theater and the Wilson Place Mansion & Museum are excited to announce a new partnership to expand historical tour offerings throughout Menomonie in efforts to grow tourism and culture. Tours will be provided by The Mabel Tainter's docent program and will be offered periodically throughout the year. Ticket fees will go directly to the preservation and restoration of both The Mabel Tainter Theater and Wilson Place Mansion.
The Joyann Parker Band
With roots in the church and a solid foundation of musical education, Joyann Parker found her authentic voice later in life and created her own blend of roots music that combines soul, R&B, gospel, jazz and traditional blues styles. Parker has been a steadily rising star on the Midwest music scene and now brings her full range of talent as an accomplished singer, pianist, guitarist and songwriter to national and international stages.
Michael Perry and the Long Beds
Every Long Beds show is built on roughneck ballads and freight train rockers interspersed with hilarious off-the-cuff tales from Mike’s diverse experience as a Wisconsin farm kid turned cowboy turned nurse turned best selling author and humorist (as featured on the recent PBS special Michael Perry: On the Road).
John A. Nielsen with Nici Peper

Born & raised in the Chippewa Valley, John Nielsen discovered the guitar late in life, but quickly was leading a popular band and doing over 50 shows a year. His smooth vocals are matched to the hundreds of song selections in his library. Nici Peper is an American singer-songwriter who captivates audiences with her soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics.

Reverend Raven & Chain Smokin' Altar Boys featuring Westside Harmonica Andy
Bringing crowds to their feet at the hardest to please and sophisticated night clubs in the Midwest, Reverend Raven and the Chain Smoking Altar Boys play traditional blues, straight up with a big dose of passion. With smoking grooves, served up with hot harmonica and smooth stinging guitar they play original songs peppered with nods to Slim Harpo, Little Walter, Jimmy Rogers, Billy Boy Arnold, Junior Wells and the three Kings.
'Cap'n Seabeard
FREE IN THE SPIRIT ROOM:
‘Cap’n Seabeard originated as a solo project and alter ego for a the folk songwriting of Christopher Schumacher. He started to hone in his craft writing, traveling and performing on the streets and anywhere that would hire him. Now, roughly eight years later, Cap’n Seabeard has mushroomed into an umbrella term for a project consisting of an alternating cast and crew with a sound to match.
Jazz Flux
FREE IN THE SPIRIT ROOM:
Jazz Flux is a group comprising several of Milwaukee's most active performing jazz musicians. The group derives it's unique sound from elements of hip hop, R&B, and pop while incorporating elements of those genres into it's performances of traditional jazz.
William Kent Krueger
2024 marks 150 years of library service in Dunn County. To celebrate, Menomonie Public Library, Dragon Tale Books, and The Mabel Tainter are bringing award winning author, William Kent Krueger to town. The FREE event will be held at The Mabel Tainter on April 10th at 6:30pm. The Spirit Room at The Mabel Tainter will host a book signing with the author after the event.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo
For 60 years, South Africa’s five-time Grammy Award winners, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has warmed the hearts of audiences worldwide with uplifting vocal harmonies, signature dance moves and charming onstage banter. The group has performed for millions of people, singing a message of peace, love and harmony.
Kenni Holmen with the MHS Jazz Ensemble
Kenni Holmen is one of the most active recording and touring musicians coming from the Minneapolis area. Kenni has performed and recorded with many local, national and international artists over his thirty five year career.
Mabel: Drawings Inspired by the Mabel Tainter
Please join us for the opening reception of Mabel: Drawings Inspired by the Mabel Tainter Theater. These drawings were created by Honors Drawing II UW-Stout first year students. The opening and show is exhibited in the upper level gallery of the Mabel Tainter!
The show will run April 5th through April 25th 2024.

The Menomonie Art Music Society requests the pleasure of your company at the Mabel Tainter Theater, downtown Menomonie, for a program of classical music. The Music in March performance will have a theme of alliteration since many of the musicians will present composers whose names start with the letter M or compositions that have an M in the title such as the composers, Mozart and Mendelssohn, or minuet (a dance), the Merry Go-Round of Life, Mist, etc.

Take2Day Duo

Take2Day Duo is the musical collaboration of chanteuse Barbara Lyon and pianist-composer Patrick Pesek-Herriges. The duo’s eclectic playlist includes jazz repertoire, Patrick’s jazz-based originals, and “standards”— both the old and the “new standards” drawn from pop and rock. Three decades of partnership have deepened the T2D Duo’s joy of performance.

Tim Case

Tim Case is a singer-songwriter from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Blending folk, country, and Americana influences, his original songs combine inventive acoustic guitar compositions with lyrics that explore heavy topics with a light touch. He performs frequently around the Chippewa Valley, both solo and as a duo with Rock Creek Song Dogs banjo player Jake Soha.
